Shelf Life
We make our products in small batches and don’t use toxic preservatives that make things last forever. That being said, products that don’t contain water (like butters, powders, and oils) are best used within one year of purchase.
Belly Butter is is packaged in a classy frosted glass jar with a PP lid (#5), everything but the liner and label is recyclable. Clean the jar with warm soapy water and for best results, put the jar and lid in the dishwasher. Re-use the glass jar, or remove the label and toss in the recycling.
Will Belly Butter help with scars?
Absolutely! Belly Butter contains all sorts of awesome ingredients that promote skin regeneration and repair.
My Butter is grainy/chunky, is it ok to use?
Don’t worry, your product has not spoiled. We do not use any synthetic stabilizers in our products to prevent certain ingredients from recrystallization. Sometimes natural butters can form crystals when it goes through temperature fluctuations and cools inconsistently.
The little lumps will melt when you rub the product into the skin. If the texture is bothersome, you can remove the lid and either remelt in a warm water bath (do not fully submerge or let water enter the product), or microwave at 20 second intervals until melted. Put the butter in the fridge until fully solid and then put the lid back on.
