What do we mean by Clean, Natural, Safe, and Toxin Free?

Clean

We believe that good, effective products don’t need a bunch of synthetic chemicals or a long ingredient list. We believe being clean means the ingredients are safe to use on your body because they are naturally derived and used properly. It is important that the impact is not harmful to the planet or the people that work hard to produce all of the components of our products. We strive to continue to improve and research everything that we do to ensure this.

Natural

We strive to keep all of our ingredients as natural and unprocessed as possible. We use organic ingredients whenever possible, such as herbs, oils, and butters. Certain ingredients either can’t be (clay for instance), or isn’t as important as how it’s produced (Beeswax). We never use synthetic fragrances, which often contain petrochemicals that are capable of causing cancer, birth defects, nervous system disorders, and allergies. We use only natural fragrances and use essential oils (carefully and responsibly), herbs, and scents that occur naturally in the products themselves. You may not get unicorn strawberry shortcake surprise scented products from us (or maybe you will), but rest assured, our scents really do come from nature

Safe

The word safe is defined as “protected from or not exposed to danger or risk; not likely to be harmed or lost.” To us, it means that not only are we committed to people and what we put on our skin, but that the planet and process is not only “safe” but also sustainable and ethical. We choose ingredients and suppliers that we trust and follow these same philosophies. We use only natural ingredients in our products. We make sure that no matter what the ingredient is, it comes from a sustainable source and won’t harm you or the planet. We never test our products on animals and we only purchase from companies that don’t.

Toxin Free

We’re all getting familiar with toxins in beauty products. We’ve got parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, just to name a few, and it’s hard to keep up with all the variations these ingredients can go by. You almost have to write a whole research paper before being sure you can use this stuff on your skin. On the flip side, just because something is safe and natural, doesn’t mean it can’t be toxic if used improperly. Certain ingredients can be irritating to the skin, or become cause for concern at certain concentration thresholds or on a particular area of application (eyes, lips, face, body, etc.). We ensure that not only are all of our ingredients themselves safe, but they are used safely. 

And just to note, not every ingredient agrees with everyone the same way. We all have degrees of allergies, we all have degrees of sensitivities. If something does bother you, don’t use it. At least you know what you’re putting on your body and possibly why it’s affecting you, unlike a chemical product.
